Oscar Maxfield is part of the Hilton Smythe M&A team, where he supports company valuations, research projects and client engagements across a wide range of sectors. With a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chester, Oscar brings a strong analytical mindset and a solid academic foundation to every deal.

His passion for business finance began during A-levels and developed further through university placements in accountancy, public sector funding and corporate finance. These experiences gave him valuable insight into the complexities of business transactions, particularly in niche markets where acquisition targets or buyers can be difficult to identify.

Oscar has worked on a variety of research-led M&A projects and continues to build his expertise in financial modelling, Excel and market analysis. He is currently working towards the ACA qualification, with long-term ambitions of becoming a Chartered Accountant and potentially pursuing the CFA designation.

Focused on creating clarity and value for clients, Oscar ensures that every business sale or acquisition aligns with their strategic goals. His approach is built on quality information, transparent communication and a strong commitment to confidentiality throughout every stage of the process.
