About Us – Meet the team – Daniel Williams
Daniel Williams
Mergers & Acquisitions Associate
Daniel is part of Hilton Smythe’s M&A team, supporting business owners and acquirers through buyer research, deal origination, transaction support and execution. He works across the full lifecycle of a deal, helping businesses find the right strategic fit rather than simply the first offer on the table.
Daniel began his career in finance in 2019, initially working within banking and corporate actions before moving into M&A through RSM’s graduate programme in 2022. Over the past several years he has worked within mid market deal advisory teams at both RSM and Menzies, gaining experience across technology, engineering and entertainment sectors.
While much of his early career focused on the front end of transactions, Daniel has been closely involved in buyer identification, sector research and deal preparation for a range of mid market businesses. During his time within RSM’s software M&A group, he contributed to the publication of quarterly software reports, strengthening his understanding of valuation drivers and market sentiment.
Daniel brings strong financial analysis, structured buyer research and commercial insight to Hilton Smythe. His approach is thorough and grounded in the realities of the market, ensuring that clients understand not just what their business could be worth, but who is most likely to value it highly and why.
He is currently working towards the ACA qualification and holds a BA in Economics and Politics alongside an MSc in Accounting and Financial Management from Keele University, including an exchange semester in South Korea.
Daniel is particularly interested in businesses that have identified a clear niche and built scalable, resilient models around it. He believes timing, preparation and strategic positioning are critical to achieving premium outcomes.
