As an M&A Associate at Hilton Smythe, Mei Yan supports clients through complex business sales and acquisitions, bringing a strong commercial mindset and analytical expertise to every transaction. She plays a key role in helping business owners navigate valuations, due diligence, deal structuring, and investor relations.

With over seven years of experience in M&A, IPOs, equity capital markets, and financial due diligence, Mei Yan has worked on major transactions across sectors including real estate, gaming, tech, manufacturing, and fashion. One of her proudest achievements was helping a Chinese real estate company list with a market capitalisation of HKD 6.8 billion, where she led on valuation analysis and regulatory compliance.

Mei Yan brings a strategic, problem-solving approach to Hilton Smythe, drawing on her experience working with auditors, legal teams, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. She previously held the “Type 6 - Advising on Corporate Finance” licence from the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and continues to build her expertise in corporate finance.

She believes that successful deals are built on collaboration and clear communication, and always reminds clients that selling a business isn’t just about listing it—it requires thoughtful preparation, professional valuation, and solid financials.

Outside of work, Mei Yan enjoys watching football, spending time with her partner and baby daughter, and has a keen eye for detail that she jokes would have made her a great detective. Her colleagues describe her as helpful, adaptable, and insightful.
