Managing your social media when you’re a small business can be a challenging and daunting task. Just where do you begin? Well, I’ll let you in on a secret: it doesn’t have to be difficult. In this blog I’m going to go through the tools and tricks you can use for your social media strategy, some of these I’ve mentioned in previous blogs and some you may have heard of.
BufferApp
BufferApp is a program designed for you to manage multiple social media accounts (such as Facebook (Profile, Page or Group), Twitter, LinkedIn (Profile or Page), Google+ and Pinterest). To start you just have add all your social media accounts and then you’ll be able to post to them from Buffer.
If you’re having trouble with Buffer or have some questions about Buffer, they have a FAQ page that’s pretty useful and they have a really good blog, which is full of useful tips to help you on the way to being great on social media.
Unfortunately the free version only allows you to ‘Buffer’ ten posts and only connects to one account from each social media (however this may be all you need if you run a small business!)
Overall, Buffer is a great tool for social media, if you need the extras as your business grows
Mention
Mention is a great little tool that allows you to monitor mentions on the web, so if you’re mentioned on twitter, you’ll be able to see the tweets and react if necessary.
You can connect all your social media accounts so you can reply without leaving the application, so no more checking each and every account.
Here’s an example of a Twitter page who tweeted about us, even if they do not directly tag you in the post and just use your brand’s name, you’ll be able to see these tweets.
Bit.ly
Bitly is a link shorterner tool, all you have to do is copy the URL you want to use and convert it to a Bitly link. Also there’s an option for a branded link which can be your brand name if needs be.
bu creating an account with Bitly you can keep track on your links, a bit like google analytics but easier!
So there you have it, a few social media platforms to get you started! There’s a lot of social media programs out there that I’ve not mentioned, but these are the ones I use. Use any different ones? Share your thoughts below!
