The sale of recruitment consultancy Magnus Search
Hilton Smythe is delighted to announce the sale of logistics recruitment consultancy Magnus Search to Canada-based Arrow Workforce Solutions.
Over the course of its short 6-year history, Magnus Search has swiftly risen to become a market-leader in aviation, FMCG and logistics recruitment, having partnered with household names such as Royal Mail, DHL, FedEx UK and Tesco.
Seeking to cash out on the value they had built up, the shareholders engaged the services of M&A specialists Hilton Smythe in 2022, whose expert in-house valuations, marketing, research and deals teams brought the company to market.
Thanks to the exemplary work of a dedicated team, Hilton Smythe quickly found a buyer in Arrow Workforce Solutions, who believed Magnus Search would provide them with an opportunity to expand into new international territories and add a UK-based arm to its operations.
The final negotiated deal surpassed the original expectation by some 140%, and the deal completed in early October 2023.
As part of the deal, the founders will remain within the company, tasked with steering the combined group’s ambitious UK growth plans. They say that they anticipate significant growth with Arrow Workforce Solutions on board as a major investor.
“Global revenue in the staffing industry continues to grow, making recruitment businesses such as Magnus Search highly desirable for investors,” says Gareth Smyth, CEO at Hilton Smythe. “The potential market is huge: in the UK alone, the estimated number of vacancies in September to November 2023 was 949,000, according to the ONS.”
“The exponential growth of Magnus Search’s revenue testifies to the fast-paced growth of the wider industry and because of this, we have many investors on our books that are looking to acquire recruitment companies as soon as possible.”
“We are delighted to have negotiated a successful deal between Arrow Workforce Solutions and Magnus Search and we look forward to helping more business owners exit from their recruitment ventures.”
