Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar is located in Prestbury.
Prestbury is a village and civil parish in Cheshire about 1.5 miles north of Macclesfield. At the 2011 census it had a population of 3,471. Alongside fellow Cheshire Golden Triangle villages, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge, it is one of the more sought after places in the north.
The village is popular with sporting celebrities. Over the last 5 years huge houses have been built by cricketer Andrew (Freddie) Flintoff and footballers Wayne Rooney and Stephen Ireland. Other residents include footballers Owen Hargreaves and Robbie Savage, Slade guitarist Noddy Holder and BBC commentator Alan Green.

There is a Snug Bar which is an intimate room for private dining or just drinks and also provides a spill over area on busy weekend evenings for a further 3 or 4 tables. This room features low ceilings, a generous bar with room for 2 or 3 drafts if required and a feature fireplace with living flame fire. This room is illuminated by candles which adds to its appeal and popularity.
There are two generous storage rooms which offer the potential to be incorporated into the restaurant and bar areas. One of these rooms is used as a staff room and also contains a chest freezer and double door wine fridge whilst the other room is currently used for the storing of wines and drinks etc.
A particular feature of this business is the outside areas. There is a secret garden which was voted by Cheshire Life Magazine as one of the best places to eat in Cheshire!
This is fully heated and seated marquee area with abundant flowers and cosy benches complete with throws and cushions and adorned with pretty fairy lights. From March to October this area has 45 covers and from October to March 28 covers. This particular area of the business is extremely popular and gets booked out all through the year and already has Christmas bookings such is its allure. This area is so popular that customers travel from Manchester and Stoke On Trent to experience it’s special and unique ambience.
