CoGoGo welcomes to the market Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms, which has been established as an antiques centre since 2000 and is now being sold as our client is looking to retire. The ground floor area is currently used as a tradition tea room which displays fine quality antique furniture, lighting, art work & collectables from the 17th Century onwards; as well as vintage costume jewellery, gift and craft items all of which appeal to a large section of the public and visitors. The first floor is divided into two rooms which display and sell antiques, costume jewellery, art and novelties. The tea room sells tea, coffee and cold drinks, as well as locally sourced, handmade cakes, cream teas and light lunches. Being on a tourist route the tea rooms has many visitors throughout the year with many walkers and cyclists adding to the turnover. There are also many local customers who visit from not only Cavendish but other surrounding villages. There is scope for development by carrying out the following:Opening throughout the weekOpening when local events are onCreating a websiteCreating a social media page Also, if the upstairs was used as part of the tea room as opposed to only display and retail of antiques etc, then upwards of 50 heads could easily be catered for. At the moment only the ground floor is used for the tea rooms, restricting the number of heads to a maximum of 16. CoGoGo highly advise early viewing to avoid disappointment.

The business is run and managed by our client, with the help of 2 part time members of staff.

The business opening hours are: Monday: 2.30PM – 5PMTuesday: closedWednesday: closedThursday: closedFriday: 11AM – 5PMSaturday: 11AM – 5PMSunday: 11AM – 5PM during Spring and Summer months. The tea rooms are only open these hours as our client also owns a separate antiques showroom in another area and spends time between the two. The business could be open 7 days a week in the Spring/Summer and early Autumn and evening when there are village green events on.

Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms is located in Cavendish on the main A1092 opposite the village green. The village, which is located in the Stour Valley has a population of over 1,000 and is located between the towns of Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Haverhill. Cavendish has a strong social scene with regular events held on the village green where annually the village summer fete takes place in September, along with a smaller fete organised earlier in the summer by the local church. The annual fireworks event is also held on the green as well as many other events by local pubs and clubs. Cavendish is situated some 25/30 miles from major Towns and Cities of Cambridge, Colchester Ipswich, and Chelmsford. Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill are approximately 15miles away, Sudbury 5 miles away and Clare 3 miles away. There is free parking directly outside the shop, which is in a conservation area and located within a two storey Victorian building which retains a large amount of character and original features.
