A local Fish and Chip Shop business with thriving delivery trade, first established in the area over 10 years ago and recently purchased by our client in 2018 who due to other business interests is unable to give the business the attention it needs and needs to sell.

The community driven business requires an owner/manager who will develop a long-standing relationship with the local customers, the potential number of customers will nearly double in the next 2 years due to the number of new housing developments.

Historically the business offered a traditional fish and chips menu however our client has introduced an additional Peri Peri chicken menu which is proving very popular. Other choices include burgers, kebabs, southern fried chicken, pies, wraps, kids’ meals, drinks and desserts including extras such as garlic bread, battered halloumi chips and spring rolls.

The business is currently split 40% walk in trade and 60% from delivery orders.

Our clients have spent both time and money developing the delivery side of this business, this has included a fantastic new website which offers the ability to both view the menu’s, look at the excellent customer reviews, place an order, as well as follow the business on social media sites Facebook and Instagram. There is also the option to leave a review on Trip advisor as well as sign up for their customer loyalty scheme.



The business also comes with a fully branded delivery car and motorbike, both recently added to the business to help promote the delivery awareness.

 

Currently the 60% delivery turnover is split 30% from Just Eat and 30% from the new website. Further efforts to push their own site deliveries will of course increase the net profit of the business as Just Eat take an average commission of 16%.

Our client identifies there has been a drop in the walk-in trade especially from locals, this has been due to the opening hours not being consistent and no owner/manager being present. Simply opening longer hours especially through the day would quickly attract many of the builders working within the area but also bring back the vital local trade, including the new cross rail commuters.

Introducing a full pizza menu could also add a further 30/40% new turnover.

This part of Iver is undergoing a lot of investment and any new owner will be able to capitalize on this increased footfall and easily double the current weekly turnover which averages at £3,500

Friday - 12pm - 12 midnight

Saturday - 4pm - 12 midnight

Sunday - 4pm - 10pm.

The Chip Shop Co. enjoys a prominent trading position on Wellesley Avenue at the junction where it meets Bathurst walk in Iver, Bucks.

The business is central to a parade of community led businesses which include a post office/convenience store, estate agent, hair and beauty salon, chemist and repair garage.

This recent increased popularity has been the result of the new Crossrail ‘Elizabeth’ line being announced to run from Iver mainline station. Iver is a large parish in the South Bucks district of Buckinghamshire, just 4.5 miles West of Slough and just 6 miles North of Heathrow. It is accessed just off the M25 motorway which connects to the nearby M4.
